Jay’s Take – Marcus Jordan, Twitter, and Porn
Marcus Jordan, the spawn of NBA legend Michael Jordan, has had an epic Twitter fail. In a tweet sent to porn star Rachel Roxxx (I wonder if that’s her birth name), Jordan said the following:
“@xxxrachelroxxx too bad u wasnt n chi this weekend was ready for round 2, 1st black one huh? dm me back boo got a lot more for u $$”
Apparently this Tweet was meant to be a direct message to Ms. Roxx, but Jordan accidentally put it on his home page for all of his followers to see. After it was discovered and re-Tweeted, Jordan took the Tweet down and claimed it was nothing but a prank.
Jay’s Take: I love when people make simple technological mistakes. Although it makes them look like an asshole, it’s funny for
everyone else. You damn well know that given Marcus’s last name he doesn’t want his family or the media know that he thinks he’s a low-rent Charlie Sheen. By posting this message for the world to see Jordan wasn’t winning and ended up looking like a frat-boy choad. As far as saying it was only a prank, that’s the obvious move to save face when you get a phone call from daddy.
I had a similar experience about 12 years ago; except it had nothing to do with me offering a Grade B porn star money for ass (I also didn’t use the word “boo”). I was working for a mortgage company in Lower Manhattan and I had a client who was a moron. I’m not exaggerating either. This clown needed everything spelled out and emailed me with questions at least ten times a day (he also proved there is such a thing as stupid questions). One day I came into the office and I was a little banged up from the night before. I logged in to my computer and there was already five emails from him. After reading this guy’s stupidity, I wrote an email that said “This guy’s a friggin’ idiot.” I made one mistake. I MEANT to forward the email along with my comment to the loan officer, but instead of hitting forward, I hit reply, so the client received an email from me calling him a friggin’ idiot.
I realized my own stupidity when the client responded by calling me a friggin’ idiot because I didn’t know how to forward an email. Of course I figured if this guy complained I was ass-out of a job, so I went into damage control mode and sent him the most apologetic email I’ve ever written (it was the written equivalent of a hand-jibber). I explained to him I had a couple emails open and that the email he received wasn’t intended for him but for a friend, discussing something else. I’m sure he didn’t buy it, but at least he didn’t complain to my boss (but he did continue to stupid questions). I think I learned my lesson (by learning my lesson, I learned to be more careful).
Where do you stand on Marcus Jordan or do you have your own embarrassing story of technological stupidity? Comment or email me at jay@thesportsriot.net.
