Happy Monday Rioters!  I hope your weekend was as good as mine.  Since the relaunch of The Sports Riot! we’ve been focusing on cities and states that are the current champions in each respective sport.  We’re going to be changing that up a bit.  While we are still going to focus on a city, we’re also going to have more coverage of things not directed at the featured city so Rioters who hate St. Louis aren’t punished with nothing but St. Louis content, so stay tuned.

This week is also going to be a little different because Chris is out-of-town on business (he’s actually on my coast for a change), so I’ll be the only inmate running the asylum.  Since I have the power of controlling everything for a week (something rarely offered to me, for good reason), I want to focus on something I love.  A city where my heart is and has the best fans in the world.  That’s right, I’m talking about Philadelphia.

While Philadelphia doesn’t have the championship history as some other cities, the knowledge and the passion the fans have is bar none.  From the neighborhood pubs to lines waiting for a cheesesteak at Pats, Philadelphia fans are talking sports with strong opinions and occasionally some colorful language.  It’s a way of life in the City of Brotherly Love.

So sit back and enjoy.  Philly, I want to hear from you this week.  Make my city proud.  If you have a suggestion of a topic you want me to touch on, let me know and I’ll make it happen.  The email is jay@thesportsriot.net.  Don’t forget it.
